"When One Falls, Another Takes Him Home"

Last night I watched the movie " Taking Chance" with hubs and I was so moved by it I decided to write a blog about it. Usually I don't watch war-themed movies with my husband because it makes me really sad to see the many things that happen. This movie is unlike any other war movie I have seen. This movie is based on a true story of Marine Lieutenant Colonel Michael Strobl's journey to escort 19 year old PFC Chance Phelps's remains back home. It opened up my eyes on the process that goes in taking a fallen serviceman home. The honor, respect that goes in getting everything ready and most of all it opened up my eyes on the effect that this process has on everyone it touches. I know the effect it had on me. I would recommend this movie to anyone, if you have HBO watch it. Oh and have kleenex by your side..you will need it.

My husband served in the Marine Corps for 5 years. Everyday I am proud of the fact that he served our country and risked his life for all of us. To all of those in the armed forces who have given up so much to protect us here at home...I thank you....To PFC C. Phelps USMC and all the other fallen marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen...Thank you for your service to our country and for protecting our freedoms. Rest in peace.
